History

York Jugglers was started by Jim and Anna (of Cosmos Jugglers) in October 1992 and held in the Priory Street Centre after the Juggling club at York Arts Centre in Micklegate folded.  In 1994 Anna wrote an article about  running a juggling club for Kaskade.  The running of the club was later passed on to the members.  The club moved from Priory Street to All Saints RC School on Nunnery Lane and then moved to York Cemetery in 1997 (there is a map of previous locations). In 2012 the cemetery finally installed some heating and decided their hall would no longer be available, so York Jugglers moved to St Lawrence's Church Hall

The York Jugglers Convention in June 1992 was sadly cancelled, but since 1996 the University Jugglers and York Jugglers have organised Chocfest, the annual juggling convention in York, as well as holding the British Juggling Convention at the University of York in 2000.
